Welcome        Worship Service        Minister’s Message        About Us        Helping Others        Find UPC        Photo Album

Worship Services are lead by our minister Reverend Marty Molengraaf with regular participation from others including the children for those who would like to do so.  Our services are about 1 hour in length.  Following the service there is a popular time of fellowship and refreshments to which all are welcome.

Children’s Church is a welcoming program for junior and senior kids, where children are nurtured in Christian faith and learn to love and care for others and for the world around them.

Children come into the sanctuary for the beginning of the service and after “Time with the Children” at the front with the Minister they leave for their own activities with their leaders. Programming for 4-9 yrs. and 10 to teens.

In the Summer our worship services will start at 10:30am in the summer months until after Labour Day.  During the summer the children have age appropriate activity packs available for their use and may stay in the sanctuary with their parents or sometimes go out to the activity room.  Our minister often will take vacation for 1 month during this time and guest ministers are invited to lead the worship services while he is away.

Reaching out to Seniors in our community:  Our minister, Rev. Marty Molengraaf, leads worship services for those in our community’s seniors’ residences who can’t get out to church on Sundays.  During these services music is provided by Mrs. Eleanor Clayton, a musician and member of UPC’s Care Ministry Team.  These services are held at Union Villa, and The Woodhaven.

UPC’s Mandarin Ministry

Amazing grace!  We started the Mandarin worship/fellowship at 9:30-10:30am on September 10th, as planned by Rev. Marty and Rev. Grace Chang.  We had about 20 Mandarin speaking people at that first service.

The attendant members are mainly non-believers and new seekers.  These folks are mostly from our Thursday Night fellowship activities and the Friday Health and Happiness Group, as well as passers-by who see our sign.  There are at least seven Chinese/Mandarin churches around the Unionville area, we are the new rising star.

My style of worship is more contemporary and seekers-friendly;  thus it is less formal than the Presbyterian tradition.  My sermons will focus on seeker-friendly subjects: such as The Price and Value of Life; Successful Immigration from Here to There; Why Jesus? What is Love? I Have Chosen You; etc.

On most Sundays the services will be held in the Fellowship Hall.  On occasion they may move to the Sanctuary as time goes on. At the moment we have no pianists but will pray for this once we establish the foundation and fellowship.

With the help of Administrator, Margaret, Sylvia and Rev. Marty, we had a very wonderful start.  And we are all excited about this historical new ministry in our church.

God surprises us all the time and will accomplish God’s own Dream here at UPC.

“Christian encouragement is the bold affirmation of God-among us.  Christian community is that intense beautiful, volatile, fruitful, peaceful, urgently needed mix of God and self and neighbour that promotes life.  Be encouraged!  Hold hands with your community.  Hold on tight.”

Memorial Service

Sunday, October 29, 11:00am

On this day we will remember all those in our faith

community and extended families whom we have lost.

During the service people will be invited to light a candle

in memory of someone close who has died.  The service helps us to remember and to name our loved ones, trusting in the grace of God that extends beyond death itself.  Please invite family and friends to this special service of sacred memory.
